I'm not sure how many of you have heard of RockMelt, but it's a browser that integrates facebook and twitter into the browsing experience seamlessly! For those who enjoy Google Chrome, it is made from an open source code provided by Google, but is developed independently by the RockMelt team (affiliated with the founder of one of the original browsers, Netscape, NOT with Google).
I urge you to try it out. In addition to the facebook integration (including chat, etc.) you have access to a seamless search feature that doesn't take you away from the page you're browsing, and all updates occur automatically without you ever having to download them yourself. Additionally, most Google Chrome add-ons are compatible. Definitely try it out if you haven't already. It has the potential to change the way you use the internet in a very positive way.
If I wanna go on Facebook, I'll open a new tab and go to www.facebook.com. Doing too much.
Suit yourself, but if you want to have access to updating your status, sharing things on facebook (no matter what site you're on), seeing which friends are online on chat (and chatting with them), seeing friend requests, and seeing messages, all without having to visit facebook's website, RockMelt is the way to do it. If you don't use facebook much to begin with I wouldn't recommend it.
I hated Google Chrome. How does it compare to Firefox?
Well, it does things neither firefox nor Google Chrome can do, so I'd say that stands for something. I love firefox, but I also love RockMelt. I've been using it for months now and it's met nearly every need I've had.
