No, you're seeing right. In Japan, the yellow ranger is a male in most series. The very first Sabatooth tiger Yellow Ranger was a male. The U.S. version was a female. That's why there isn't a skirt for the Yellow Ranger until Zeo.

I was aware of the whole Yellow Ranger usually being a male in Japan...
Mighty Morphing, Galaxy, Lightspeed rescue, Time Force, and Wild Force are the only seasons that were male in the Japanese version and Female in the american version. The rest were both female.
Oh and what Riley posted aren't power rangers. They were never turned into Power Rangers.

Ninja Storm was a male in the American Version. I'm not sure about Japanese though.
He was such a low-budget Red Ranger.
But all the rangers were fine to me. I can't think of an ugly ranger.
