Oh my god, I was just thinking about that exact scenario last night. And I agree with you.
At the end of the day, she will be compared to Madonna no matter what she does. She could dye her skin black, shave her head, and join a Satanic cult - and she'd still be accused of imitating Madonna. But, it is partially Gaga's fault. She not only allowed the Madonna comparisons at first, she enjoyed them. But then after the whole "Born This Way" versus "Express Yourself" controversy, she became very defensive.
Do I feel that Gaga does, at times, try to channel or unintentionally imitate/copy Madonna? Yes. But I wouldn't go as far as saying she rips her off every chance she gets. I would call it inspiration gone too far occasionally.
What can I say, the bitch has done literally everything that can be done!
