Katy increasing http://kworb.net/pop/ The Edge of Glory increasing too.

The video didn't really help "Edge" that much. I'm seeing that it lost some points overnight.

To add to the discussion on the previous page; Marry The Night is the only obvious smash left but it's to much like Edge Of Glory & Born This Way, so I say attempt to get a hit out of You & I, then release it.

It always decreases at night... We have seen this pattern for the past few weeks.... and TEOG seems to be increasing now (which is quite a feat considering what LFN is doing....)

Nonetheless the video effect does seem to be quite small (unlike Judas)- but my guess is because everybody knows about this song. When Judas vid dropped nobody knew about the song since it wasnt getting good radio exposure, hence there was a big increase... the same is not the true for TEOG

Also because the video is bad. It made me hate the song.

I kinda knew the video wouldn't be a big booster. It seems that Katy is the only artist to really have that big effect from her videos.

public reaction on the video is positive. Monsters and people on ATRL hate it.... but we are simply a minority.... look at the thread of blog/press responses.... I think there were like 11 positive, 2 mixed, and 2 negative

If you search the video on Twitter and look for comments from non-monsters, chances are they say the video is: normal, cute, simple, pretty, and likable.

The Edge Of Glory video is too boring... The iTunes update and the non-appearance of The Edge Of Glory avatars in ATRL is a testimony to its monstrosity

I think it is more the timing behind LFN's video release than Katy her self... it is the whole 1st wave vs 2nd wave debate....

1st Wave: Release the video at the very start of a song's charting period (aka: LFN, S&M, CKB,) to get the public exposed to the song, and get radio updates started as well as the song within the Top 10 on iTunes

OR

2nd Wave: Wait for the song to be performing well on radio on iTunes and then release the video to give it an additional boost to regain sales and peak (aka: TTWE, HIAM, BTW, TEOG, RTW)

So course 1st wave videos have more of an effect- that is the entire point behind them- to get exposure for the song

I agree with you here. I noticed Katy's team is always on the mark when releasing her videos. Someone like GaGa releases her videos a month or so after the song is impacting. That could have an effect. I remember when I thought the "Airplanes" video would have given the song a boost, but it didn't. It was released like two months after the song impacted.

The "public" HATES the way GaGa looks and dresses (Although I do not agree with it, that's the truth.) what makes you think they want to stare at her dancing like a crazy bitch on a stranded street for 5 minutes?

Blogs and whatever are giving it positive responses because they are scared from the backlash of the GaGa fans.

You have it completely backwards. Look up what Gaga's monsters are saying on ATRL. Majority hate it. Go online and look at what the public thinks- they appreciate Gaga being relatively normal and cute. Sorry, so spill the true tea sister but you gotta put that crack pipe down!

Yep, 2nd wave I think can be more risky... 1st wave is guaranteed you to get you exposure... With 2nd wave releases there are chances you get the timing wrong and miss when the song is hot, or just fail to make an impact....

For example
TTWE: HUGE 2nd Wave effect- helped the song re-peak and get longevity and extend its streak
Airplanes (like you said): Too late, non-event, did not really help the song.

To be fair, only a few of those monsters are really defending the video. A lot of them either have mixed feelings or just plan hate the video. The Twitter war is an example of that. I have never seen any of GaGa's videos get such a mixed response from fans and non-fans alike. It was a miss. This era could have turned out a bit better and more iconic with more careful procedures.
