I think what has helped make Katy Perry mostly, but also Rihanna & Ke$ha, so successful in marketing so well is their lack of fright of using inappropriate imagery and phrasing. Beyonce wouldn't be caught dead using the word MILF in a promo campaign. And people are finding it refreshing.
