Amber Portwood Hospitalized, Alleged Suicide Attempt
"Teen Mom" star Amber Portwood was rushed to the hospital hours ago in Indiana -- after she allegedly threatened to take her own life ... TMZ has learned.
She needs an extraordinary amount of help.
It's been confirmed by authorities that Teen Mom's Amber Portwood, who was rushed to the hospital after being found unconscious in her home with a rope around her neck, did indeed, try to commit suicide.
According to a source close to the family, baby daddy Gary Shirley became concerned for her state of mind after the two had a disturbing phone conversation, so he sent her mother to go and check on the reality starlet, which is when she was discovered.
She was immediately brought to the emergency room, where she was stabilized and later admitted to taking a cocktail of pills.
According to the police report:
“Late this morning (11:34 a.m.), Anderson Police responded to a call at a residence in the 1300 block of Pleasant Meadow Drive. According to the caller, 21-year-old Amber L. Portwood was depressed and threatening to end her life. The victim, who did not appear to be injured, was transported to a local medical facility for further evaluation. Two policemen arrived, found her face-up on the couch and immediately called for an ambulance. When two EMT workers arrived, they removed the rope that Amber had loosely knotted around her neck. They tried speaking with her, but she was in and out of consciousness and couldn’t respond; she was just moaning. They gave her an oxygen mask, put her on a gurney, and rushed her to the hospital.”
Cops in Anderson, IN tell TMZ, someone called police from Amber's home -- claiming the 21-year-old "was depressed and threatening to end her life."
According to law enforcement, Amber did not appear to be injured when cops arrived -- and she was promptly taken to a nearby medical facility for further evaluation.
We're told Amber is still in the hospital.
