Katy's songs really appeal to the public, there's no denying that. And they are good, solid pop songs. Her team is smart & aggressive. But her songs have tremendous longevity regardless of promo. People like them a lot. She is the dominant digital force now, especially in the US, and promo isn't the reason why. It's the songs.

Question: Do people actually go Home ---> Music ----> 'Music Genre' every time they open Itunes store?

I don't. If the majority of Itunes buyers don't either, then the banner in Music Genre doesn't really make a big impact.

There are so many things wrong with this post. First, LMFAO is going to peak at around the same time as Pitbull. In fact, Party Rock Anthem is never going to catch Give Me Everything, let alone ever compete for the #1 spot.

Keep in mind, the music video for The Edge Of Glory has not even come out yet. Unlike PRA and GME, which are going to peak by the end of the month, it is going to be a very long while before TEOG peaks.

As far as I'm concerned, The Edge Of Glory and How To Love are the main competition for Last Friday Night on the Billboard Hot 100. Right now, I'd have to give the edge to TEOG because it has established itself over the other two songs, by being in the Top 10 for multiple weeks now.

A re release hopefully. The Katy/Rihanna song is bound to be a future single.

I don't see how "being in the Top 10 for multiple weeks" is advantageous to a song. How is "How To Love" even a threat to LFN? Its sales are not exploding, even if its airplay gains are huge.

Your thinking short term, once the video is released it's digital sales will go up significantly and if it's airplay continues as it is it's digital sales will def climb up as well

If the rerelease is truly scrapped, I would go with Hummingbird Heartbeat.
