Justin Timberlake defends Britney in new Playboy interveiw
Quote:
PLAYBOY: The public is not very kind to the aging pop star. Have you seen the dance-off video going around the internet between Old Britney and New Britney? It shows performances from her early days intercut with performances now. It’s not pretty.
TIMBERLAKE: The internet is a cruel place. What a ****ed-up thing to do.
PLAYBOY: She’s had a pretty rough time the past few years.
TIMBERLAKE: I don’t have too much to say about her situation. I can’t remember the last conversation I had with her. But this thing that happens online bothers me—these anonymous commenters. People think they can say anything and it doesn’t matter to people. I’d love to see the people who comment about Britney online say those things to her face, because they couldn’t. Also, in Britney’s defense, if you pulled up a video I did from 2003, I couldn’t do the **** I did then either.

I'm shocked by his honesty. Most people would NEVER admit to being not as good as they once were. I respect Justin so much more now. I'm loving the fact that he's defending Britney so much lately.
I was thinking about this the other day. It wouldn't surprise me if Britney is purposely choosing not to dance the way she did when she was 23, which makes sense to me honestly. With age it becomes harder and harder to do physically demanding performances/moves and there comes a point where you have to start transitioning to different kinds of performing. It makes sense that Britney would start moving towards that transition now rather then later. I also think in terms of performances the world of performing in general is kind of dead and nowhere near as competitive as it once was. Back then Britney was competing with the likes of BSB, Nsync, Jennifer Lopez, Janet Jackson, Usher and the like. So she had more of a demand to put her best foot forward because you couldn't turn on a television without having a performer really perform. Now you hardly if ever see a Jackson level performance nowadays and there is very little in terms of powerful, demanding, exhaustive choreography. Those kind of performances are a dying breed.
I do wish Timberlake would make up his mind though. He loves her then he hates her. Dude make a choice.

You made my point for me. You hardly ever see a performance like that today. However I would take any of her performances from the Beyonce Experience and I Am Sasha Fierce tours over that one from BB. But I do wish you would stay on topic.

Well that's your opinion but okay. And I stayed on topic.
That was a stupid ass response. 2003 was eight years ago. EIGHT. Not EIGHTEEEN.
J. LO can do what she did 8 years ago. Janet can, and so can many other artists Britney's age and older.
She just doesn't seem to have the drive. I know the ability is there but she just doesn't seem to care.
She said it's because of her knee and I'll just take her word for it...
but I bet if she wanted to go back to Onyx Hotel Brit, she could.
He may nawt be as limber and agile as he was in his dancing 8 years ago, but I'm sure he can still slay a routine. The same goes for Bey, Usher, J Lo, & a ton of other veterans.
It was nice of him to try and defend Britney though.

Who gives a **** what Jlo can still do, the charts certainly don't.
