if ANY "shading" is going on in this graphic - it's not directed toward them.

I don't think anyone is coming off as butthurt, tbh. This is a relatively calm thread actually.

I'm talking about either of them, because they are usually referred to together as a production team since they generally work together. I'm definitely not doubting either's individual abilities. Max Martin made the Backstreet Boys, NSYNC and Britney back in the late 90s without Dr. Luke.

Butthurt for what? Because they do not have to depend on one or two producers or sound to get hits and acclaim?

When this tired trend dies, there will be career casualties along the way. Ask Chingy, Chamillionaire, and Soulja Boy how things have worked out for them since the urban domination ended.

Well..
Neither Rihanna Bey or Gaga need to work with Drluke tho...
They have proved success without him... so I don't even get it lmao, the shade is in the fact that 90% of the mans music sounds the same. #FACT

!
I can go back to other popular trends that died down and the casualties, but I'd be all day. No one is invincible or guaranteed future success and not everyone is able to adjust.

Of course there will be. But with Twitter and Facebook it'll definitely be harder for them to completely fade away. Lower success, yes, but that doesn't mean they'll vanish.

Who said anything about Ke$ha or Katy specifically? The future is unpredictable.

They have, but since 2010 he has really redefined pop into a sound that's very young, mindless, irreverent fun. I've been wondering for some time how certain stars like Gaga, Rihanna and especially Beyonce would fare in this climate. And I'm not talking about the future and when/if this will die down. Just the present.

Soulja Boy became popular due to the digital age. Twitter and Facebook won't change anything. If the next trend is R&B and the girls can't deal, then they are out of this.

But were Facebook and Twitter what they are now? Absolutely not.

Max Martin's success since the early days of Robyn, Backstreet Boys, NSYNC and Britney can attest. They aren't going anywhere.

No genre ever dies completely, dance-pop has been around since the 70s. But it won't be dominant forever, is the point. And as trends go, so do careers, as we've seen in the past.

Well, you had Myspace, which was Facebook's and Twitter's equivalent 4-5 years ago. The point is, Facebook and Twitter have no control over whether an artist will fade after a certain sound dies. It's up to the artists to adjust and the consumers to decide if they want to buy into the new trend and that artist. Certain artists will adjust; some may not need to adjust too much because they have already built up fanbases in other markets (i.e Beyonce). Some who depend mainly on one sound or producer may have more trouble adjusting.

I don't like any of those Dr. Luke songs except for the ones by Katy.
