Now... let me remind you that I really really do love Britney and never in a million billion jillion zillion years EVER expected the opportunity to ACTUALLY be in the same 5' radius of the pop princess herself.
Now, let me get to the details of this wonderful, most awesome and SUPER fun day! We woke up early enough to be awake, showered, packed and ready. We were getting picked up in the lobby at 10:45am. We decided to have breakfast close and grabbed a a really good start to the day meal at Blvd 16 again.
While were finishing up Melissa got a phone call that our driver was waiting for us- already! It was only 10:30am. SO we quick paid, ran to the bathroom, picked up our luggage and met the concierge outside the lobby doors- the "limo" which was actually a bus type thing, and met up with 4 MORE winners!! We had no idea we were being joined by company, but the more the merrier, right?! AND I wasn't the only preggo. The winner from Montana was 5 months along. It was kind of a bummer that we weren't the only ones as we were led to believe but it made for afternoon.
After we were all loaded into the bus and ready to MEET BRITNEY... we were headed to Hollywood and to Universal Studios we were would be checked in {after a little bit of a struggle}. Once onsite and in the gates- the KIIS FM radio station representatives waited with us and we met up with Beata the representative from Britney's record label, JIVE. This gal would be our "tour guide" for the afternoon.
We got the low down on what the plan was for the next hour and a half. We would begin by walking around the set of where Britney was currently working on her video for the single "I Wanna Go". BUT only after getting wrist bands and signing confidentially forms. Again, it was SO crazy being in the same vicinity at Britney. As we walked around the OUTSIDE of the current shot for the video- we spotted Britney from afar, but has to keep on walking. So as we were getting our mini tour {aka waiting for Britney} we were stopped by SO many men in suits it was ridiculous- lucky we had Beata because she was our safety ticket. This was making it SO very CRAZY real! Melissa got this photo as we were standing idol for a moment and Beata was confirming with Mr. security guy that we were OK to be on location and we all had permission, etc.
Moments after this photo was taken we then walked over the spot where we would be meeting Britney. We were informed that she would be doing a group shot with all of us- so we arranged ourselves so that we were ready! The winners were the LUCKY ones that got to stand next to Britney and the winner's guest stood around the outside, BUT we were all equally close to Brit.
We could all see her sitting a ways away, with MORE security surrounding her- just waiting....
and that's what we were doing too, just waiting...
and then...
all of a sudden...
she was walking towards our group...
{but of course, not without a circle of security}
I was in perfect position to be one of the first to see her approaching us- we TOTALLY made eye contact- Brit and I, we are so like... BFF.... KIDDING...
anyway...
We were told in the beginning that there is to be NO screaming when we see Britney. Our group was very clam, cool and collected. It was a lot like watching a stunning bride on her wedding day walk down the aisle, where all you can do is smile from ear to ear, wanting to say so much to the bride on how beautiful she and her dress is etc, but it's better to just say nothing at all... yeah, it was A LOT like that! I was star struck, I really really was! "was i REALLY seeing Britney Spears right now!?"
She walked up to our group very doll like
{arms stiff and swinging at her sides- think toy soldier like}-
she was all dressed up for her next scene in the video shoot and said something along the lines of "Hey guys- thanks for coming today!" {i think, IDK!- i was in awe!}
along with a mini side arm wave.
We then posed for TWO group photos
{which took about 15-20 seconds}
and then...
Britney stepped down from the stairs with the parting words
"It was so nice meeting y'all"
while waving goodbye to us.
THAT WAS IT... for meeting Britney.
NOW, some of you might be thinking, WTH!? what a bummer.... BUT I assure, for me, it was NOT! Britney is absolutely adorable in person, she is TINY 5'5" and MAYBE 120lbs IF THAT oh and SO pretty! again, I love her EVEN more NOW!
I was not disappointed for a couple of reasons;
A. there is NO way one would just randomly bump into Britney on the streets- not with her status and all that security. This was a once in a lifetime experience.
B. she let us have a picture taken with her- there were no personal camera photos allowed, but still... I now have two pictures standing close with her. SO COOL!
C. finally, she was in "work mode"- she was all business that day. and frankly, had I been able to talk to her, I wouldn't even know where to begin on what the heck to say to her!
After the QUICK meet&photo and after Britney disappeared again- our group was able to walk onto the setting up of the next video scene. Here we were able to watch play back from all that was shot the day before- this was really cool! We then met with the director, Chris Marrs Piliero, and took a group photo with him and a few other video related items. We got our picture next to a red car- that you will see in the video. We were able to view some of the play back with Britney in the car, she is standing on the passenger seat, singing and dancing. After learning a few ins and outs that go on in a video shoot we were all told to share our twitter accounts with the KIIS FM girls, so that they could get it to Beata, because Britney wanted to give a shout out to each of us on twitter later that day! Ummm yes please!!! {all photos from the set will be sent to us after the video is released, so I will share those once I get them as well}.
Britney tweeted the next day {May 26th} sharing the photo via the Twitpic seen below with the tweet reading as seen below:
"So nice to meet AJ, Sugey, Cynthia, Kristin, Laura, Heather, Crystal, and Melissa on set yesterday. Hope you guys had a blast. Thx 102.7 KIIS FM, Z100 & Sirius XM Hits 1 for introducing me to my new friends. -Brit"

and then the NEXT day, I was informed by a fellow bloggy friend that our same picture was AGAIN featured on Perez Hilton's blog- how sweet is that!

SO yeah... so worth it and TOTALLY NOT disappointed, not at all! Before we knew it it was ALREADY time to head out and get back to our bus so that we could all make it to the airport catching our flights back home.
Before leaving the site, we were able to record a little something for Britney into a camera- to which I am a SPAZ and called Britney {into the camera} Melissa!!! The KIIS girls let me have a RE-DO hahahahhahaha! Oh man....
The ride back to LAX was pretty silent- I think ALL of us were like- that just happened, didn't it?
After we were in the air leaving LAX {after more pinkberry} we had a quick flight into AZ and then we were homeward bound with our beloved Britney autographs close to heart. We arrived back in MSP dead to the world... because AGAIN we were THOROUGHLY 150% exhausted- shocked!?
After getting off the plane {mid-night}, we very sleepily navigated our way back to the my car and took a 'just returned home photo'.
I then dropped Melissa off at home and then made my way to my house, I couldn't wait to see Aaron and Tiki! I was so happy and surprised that Aaron was still awake- I talked his ear off for the next three hours!! I didn't get to sleep until about 4am!
SO... there you have it!!! whew... I am tired just reliving this day! It was so fun and I wouldn't have wanted to it any other way... well, actually, it would have been nice to sit and have lunch or something with her!
