I hope the story is a lot better than FFXIII. I liked the battle system, the Archylte Steppe, the hunts, etc... but the way the story developed bored the **** out of me. Characters were bland, etc.

Not really. But if you want a none spoiler summary of what is basically going on it would be it would be:
[Insert character 1] is believed to be dead so [insert character 2] along with [New character] go on a journey to find [insert character 1]
