Namie will join Lady GaGa, Tokio Hotel and others as performers for this years MTV Video Music Awards Japan! Namie is the 4th highest selling female artist of all time in Japan and 12th overall. Her current album 'Checkmate!' is the 2nd highest selling album in Japan so far this year. This is Namie's first award show performance since last year's World Music Awards where she was awarded for "Best Selling Asian Artist".
