Paparazzi is not simple. It's a mini movie with LOTS of weirdness. It's just beautiful & glamorous - the mansion, the colors, the lighting, the outfits.
Papparazzi was a game changer. Her 2nd best video , everything before was cute and all, but not memorable (Pokerface is the exception).

However, it's still more simple than her other videos like Alejandro or especially Telephone.
I do not watch Gaga videos to see things that appeal to everyone. I can turn on VH1 to see videos that appeal to the masses. Not what Gaga is about. She works on multiple levels and with multiple meanings. She calls it iconography.
Judas is one of the best videos this year. The video is working on multiple levels- what you are watching on the screen, what Gaga's meaning of it all and what it means to you- multiple levels. Like the 'Telephone' video the song's lyrics has little to do with the visuals. Usually it takes me several viewings to catch everything going on. Next time watch what's going on in the background, and check out Gaga's/dancer's hands when dancing on Judas.
