Pretentious Aussie pop duo The Veronicas are finally set to make a comeback with a brand new single and album this year. To remind the world that they still exist, the twins have kicked off a new viral campaign, beginning today with a VLOG uploaded to their Youtube account.
The Ronnies shy away from giving a concrete release date, but promise to keep fans informed on the making of their third album with a series of behind-the-scenes videos and previews. They also reveal that their single was produced by the amazing Nellee Hooper – Nellee produced a lot of stuff for No Doubt and Gwen Stefani, as well as The Smashing Pumpkins, Bjork, Massive Attack, Madonna, All Saints, and even Holly Valance.
According to The Music Network, they’ve also hit the studio with Fernando Garibay (Lady GaGa, Paris Hilton), Butch Vig (Garbage, Foo Fighters), Gary Clark (Liz Phair, Rachel Stevens), and Billy Corgan, who I think is dating one (or both) of them.
I’ve never been a big Veronicas fan (although I bought their Hook Me Up album — don’t know why because I hate most of it) but I never understood why they took so much time off since they released their last album. It was a huge success in Australia, and spawned a US Billboard top twenty hit with “Untouched”, which is a feat most Australian artists will never achieve in their whole careers. But instead of building off their popularity, they just vanished for two years instead (not that I was complaining).
Their music ***** hard. I love it so much. Although I was never able to fully love both of their previous albums, as my feelings towards the songs ranged from extreme love to strong dislike. I know this album will be their best, though. And I am SO ready.
I still jam to 4ever, Everything I'm Not, When It All Falls Apart, Untouched, Hook Me Up, This Is How It Feels, I Can't Stay Away, and Take Me On the Floor I can't wait for this
