Blackout, all the way. While I do like Born This Way, only a portion of the album is even enjoyable to me. The special edition bonus tracks are atrocious. Even though Blackout is one of my all-time favorite albums, I would say that I prefer "Government Hooker" and "Scheiße" over some of Blackout's sexiest songs.
In my opinion, Born This Way suffers the same fate as Bionic did, but at the hands of Gaga; the 'edgy' songs are absolutely flawless, while the 'fun' songs are dull and lacking that something special that Gaga usually has in her music. It would have been a perfect album from start to finish if she left a few of the songs out. But, I understand that this album was more for her fans than casual listeners.
If I had to rate the albums on a scale of 1-5, I would give Born This Way a 4 and Blackout a 4.5.
