But you see there is major difference between Madonna's time and Lady GaGa's, Madonna was essentially doing it all "first". That is why her reinventions worked, she was breaking down the barriers, and that allowed her to stay popular. The girls of today have very little to break down themselves, and its not like GaGa started exactly young either.
Look at Christina, all her reinventions didn't keep her afloat. This is not meant to jab or shade GaGa or Christina, but that is why Madonna's reinventions worked and she has lasted so long, cause she actually had stuff to knock down. And now Madonna's popularity isn't because we want to see her ***** poppin in some leotard, it's because she is a staple in pop music and always will be.
