It was great seeing the vast variety of fans she has. I saw young, old, skinny, fat, black, white, asian. It was amazing!

It's a lot for this particular type of show. If GMA specifically mentioned that it was the largest audience ever, then yes, it is a record. They had to give out tickets in order to attend the show because of the large demand If tickets weren't required, the audience would have been MUCH larger.

It's an impressive record because for those who have gone to a GMA summer concert show, you know the space is closed off. It's located in a part of Central Park that's blocked with it's own section for the summer concert series. 7,000 people in that space must have been extra cramp. Once it reaches capacity, people are turned away, but when huge artists come, they make you get tickets ahead of time. That's exactly what they did for Gaga and she sold out her allotment.
