Back in the day but it hasn't been like that for years. Hikaru Utada and Ayumi Hamasaki had their massive first week with Distance and A Best respectively, and I know Utada has at least two on that list, I don't know about Ayumi. It's amazing that most of the albums on the Top 10 first week sales list are from Japan honestly.
