Just in case you STILL haven't seen Gaga's MTV interview, it's coming on at midnight EST.

She sold about 300k week 2, so ~70%. But the difference is that a) Taylor had more radio support at the time and b) Taylor had some promo during her second week as well. Not sure Gaga will be so lucky. I'm thinking maybe a 85% drop.

How much more promo does Gaga really need though? If you don't know about Born This Way being out, then you've pretty much been living under a rock I'm sure more people know about BTW being out than they did about Speak Now.

True, Gaga has pretty much reached the point of saturation, which is why I'm questioning just how well this album is going to hold up (though I do think Taylor actually reached a similar point of saturation. But country fans skew older, so I don't think there was as much of a rush to get her album immediately).

I think GAGA can pull off 300K in the second week, I'm sure she'll surprise us all with some additional promo in the coming days!!!

I don't know guys I don't wanna be a pessimist....but i got the feeling that this era is going to be a ****ing mess, they are doing things too fast, the good thing about the other two albums and the 1st singles is that they were climbers, what means more longevity for me! they need to release a smash monster hit, marry the night! after the edge of glory, i thing the song is too weak for the european public, and is falling on the u.s itunes after all the promo this week! GaGa needs a Worldwide Hit NOW! to keep the album sales! and be on the radios!

I see a 80%+ drop for 2nd week

Nah I hear you. I hate to keep bringing up Taylor, but this era reminds me SO MUCH of Speak Now. The album can hold up if TEOG winds up being a massive hit, but if it's not...

Speak Now never really had that massive hit, and as a result it didn't have an ounce of the longevity that Fearless did. But SN had the benefit of being released in Q4. Without an anchor this CD won't last till the holidays.

MTN, Y&I, and Schiesse are potential singles, imo. Maybe Americano for Europe. as well.

You are right, at least the album have some hit materials, with good promotion! it will work, but sometimes I got the feeling they don't know what they are doing, I think the release of The Edge Of Glory was a HUGE mistake, I mean the song is good but it doesn't have that Worldwide Hit appealing for me! They just do it because it was #1 everywhere, but the thing is that everything that GaGa releases is going to be #1 all over Itunes is the Fan effect, but then when the fans stop downloading the song.....the single falls like a rock, they need a song right now that pleases the fans and the general public, GaGa won't survive only with the monsters she needs to attract the general public too and make them buy the singles and album and in that way have some longevity and amazing sales!

Edge Of Glory is the most general appealing song on the album. And by some margin.

Yes the song is amazing but check all the Itunes positions worldwide the song is out of the top 10 in the mayority of them, I mean let's give some time, with the video and promo maybe it will work, but what i said is that it doesn't sound like a monster hit to me! is not a song that is going to be #1 for weeks in Itunes worldwide is just my opinion! Marry the Night in the other hand! IS A FAT HIT waiting to happen!
