This is the deal, since the turn of the year, 2011 has brought the moderators nothing but pure HELL. These reports have gotten out of hand. Do you know that each day there is almost an average of about FIFTY reports? And that's on a good day, a HORRIBLE DAY (a release of something major by a big artist) can bring anywhere from 50-100 reports in one day. Yes, some people need to have the report button permanently broken (sideeyes @Michael), but a lot of the reports are correct in the assumption that a poster has violated the rules.
This has gotten out of hand. Every stanbase seems to want to shade the other by continuing to create threads that they know will provoke other stans into a fight (glares at Britney stans and the little monsters as of late). We've been discussing, what's the point in having a "Stand Your Ground" if members don't follow the rules and post such flamebait worthy material in that thread. Some of you are looking for exposure are and are so quick to hit the new thread button to get your kiii and brief 15 minutes of e-fame. You know that the thread you created belongs in SYG, but you don't care. NOT HERE FOR THAT!
The moderators have decided that if people continue to disregard such simple rules, SYG will be taken away and there will be no avenue available for shading or nicknames. Reports will skyrocket, but an increase in each WP will occur...meaning more bans. It's your choice, use it well and think twice before pressing that submit button.

I stand by the old idea of giving the warning point to someone if they are reporting too frequently or reaching. It would cut down on the superfluous reporting, making people THINK about whether it should be reported, rather than the second someone gets offended immediately hitting the button.
I also like the idea of an SYG section where threads can be started. It's hard to start any convo in SYG without it getting immediately lost in the mix. So if people want to really discuss something "shady" then they end up just making a thread anyway.
