The American Idol finale aired in the UK last night and my grandmother came round today just to tell me how much she loved Lady Gaga's performance. She did the same two weeks ago after Graham Norton

Something about the sound of The Queen just doesn't do it for me. At this point, I skip it everytime it comes on. This is also partly because I'm too excited about all the other tracks to listen to them that I just skip it. Hopefully I'll come around...

The sound is totally unlike the rest of the album, it is light and angelic. But it has some of the darkest lyrics from the album.
On the other hand, tracks with lighter lyrics have some of the darkest production.

@FedouaLovesGaga Pre-ordered as in pre-ordered by fans and therefore sold or pre-ordered as in shipped?

@MonstahNL Pre ordered by fans, I think that's what they meant. #Ihatecomplicatedfrenchsentences

Here is the French article from lemonde.fr that says about the 200.000 copies. I don't speak French, but if someone else could tranlsate?

Okay so I think I know what it is. I think I don't like it as much because it's not very dance-able. The rest of the album, you can dance the **** out of it. With BJ†AF, the sound is so reminiscent of Michael Jackson for me and it's got that sick 80s euro grunge dance pop feel it's so intense. As for FOHL, the song's about McQueen and it has a reworked part of Earthquake, and I LOVE that song, so of course this song is gonna be. I dig The Queen lyrically, but the sound is maybe just too 80s for me. Idk. The breakdown makes me think of Grease (the dance, particularly) and I LOVE Grease, so this is nowhere near an insult. Idk. It's growing on me, that's for sure.

EDIT: No, they overshot the target of 150,000 copies and have sold 200,000.

I don't speak French, but I can if you'd like.
Press, radio, television and the Internet media drowning in promotional campaigns.
Samsung, for example, released the album on their Facebook page, continuous streaming from May 17 to 23, while co-funding an advertising campaign on television. Having swept the top spots download sites for songs upstream release of the album, the New Yorker received in France a beautiful book with pre-orders of the CD in stores (200,000 copies sold, with a target of 150,000 according to Universal Music). Thursday, May 26, the major record label stated that Born This Way was number one in sales in major record stores without giving figures.

They say that they sold 200 000 albums on pre orders only, when their target was 150 000.
So I gues this does not count the actual first week sales. And it's number oen in most o the main stores!! Yay
