Heh. Pretty sure casual listeners were not too enthralled with Judas.

I didn't like it right from the start, not because it flopped. The day it leaked I told Jewfro it was bad and would flop. I tried to get into it, and I grew to like some parts, but I couldn't really get into it. I had to force myself.

I think BTW is much better, despite the lyrics. I still don't get the hate for it. I also don't think it sounds like EY. The choruses are not similar. Not any more than Cali Gurls sounding like Tik Tok or TTWE sounding like Blow. Not sure why people didn't soil themselves over those songs. But Gaga and Madonna are such big, media-magnet stars and the comparisons were just too delicious for the press not to latch on to.

Judas is the best song that underperformed !

Agreed, although obviously all the pre-existing Madonna/Gaga comparisons didn't exactly help her case. But if had been Katy's song I really have to wonder how many people would have even thought to make the comparison.

BTW had a special run for me. I loved it at first, then when the video came out, it was somewhat a turn out and didn't really listen to it for a long time. Then, I've been able to love it again when it's not attached to the video! It's a good song, not her best but not her worst for sure. Meh, the general public must have loved it, its run was kinda impressive and it's still doing better than most of the early 2011 other releases right now.

I still think Judas is amazing for some reason, totally my style - also the video is her 2nd best after BR IMO. I'm kinda upset it didn't have a lot of success, but I don't really care to be honest

But, I wouldn't say it's the best song of the album. I'm such a fan of Marry The Night - one of her best song ever if not the best. Scheibe is also better.

Katy would never have the balls to put those lyrics on the radio. Not that I entirely blame her - she knows how limiting pop is, she knows not to overstep her boundaries and push things too far, and she's an expert at playing the game. Though I realize you were using her hypothetically. If she had more talent, presence and performance ability, she would rule the world.

I agree with that last bit, I had to force myself on Judas, I can tolerate it now but I wonder if I'm just being "biased" or something. I like it now but I really pushed it on myself. MTN is the only song that instantly hit me, TEOG didn't take too long either.

I want The Edge Of Glory video to be similar to that Google add, that or MTN to have something with the streets of New York(in the night, with neon lights). I just don't see how a mermaid video will work, I hope these rumors aren't true. It sounds too cheesy and I just don't think it will work without looking cheap.
