One thing is nearly certain: we're going to have a new No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart next week, and it will be Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" with likely 1 million sold in its first week.
Industry prognosticators suggest the set, the diva's third, will hit the 1 million threshold by week's end on Sunday, May 29.
If "Born" hits the magic 1 million mark, it will be the 17th album to sell a million copies in one week, and the first to do so since Taylor Swift's "Speak Now" debuted at No. 1 on the chart dated Nov. 13, 2010 with 1.05 million

She will also go down in history as the first artist to reach 1 million with a 99cnt sale, because nobody wanted to by her album! gaga breaking records left and right in a cheap way!
She will not break Britney though! If she does we all know the truth! 99 cents!
For the people who are so critical of Gaga's promotional efforts, their faves should be taking notes.
Everyone knows that pop albums in this era traditionally don't do big numbers (no shade, but Teenage Dream is the biggest proof of that). Without all of the hype and promotion, BTW probably would've done 300-400k at best.
The pop music industry, in my opinion, has been sleeping on hard promotion for a long time. I hope the success of BTW will be a nice swift kick in the butt for other labels to make them truly promote their artists like they used to. Radio simply isn't enough anymore. Maybe then we will get the kind of industry boom we had a decade ago.
