Keep in mind that South Korea has a population of about 1/7 of the USA (though because of pricing their MP3 so cheap, their album sales took a hit). Why buy a physical album for $10-15 when you can download the digital album for 1/10 of the price?

Amazon could do something revolutionary and introduce a monthly subscription service ($9.99 monthly for 30 songs downloads). This is $0.33 per MP3. (paying about $0.80 wholesale per MP3).
Amazon is already selling it for $0.69.
They would take BIG LOSS (about $0.50 for every MP3 sold) but they would gain huge following. Amazon would then profit from these subscribers buying Amazon's other products (ebooks, dvd, electronics, etc....).
I bet millions would subscribe to Amazon to download MP3 for $0.33 each.
And then we will have a million MP3 sellers (weekly) on a frequent basis.
