This prediction is odd. 400k first day should be an easy 1 million prediction right on the nose. If they are predicting 900-950k that must mean that they think she is going to decline as the week goes onward and that her first day sales are going to be front loaded. Unless they are rounding up with their numbers. 360-380k first day would be more in line with the 900-950 projection. I also think they have already calculated the promo effects from 'Idol' and 'GMA' in their predictions, it's likely that Idol will just effect the songs/singles performed and not the album sales.

Likely wouldn't do much good. Most of the people who were going to seize that deal already have done so at this point. If they were to do it again it probably wouldn't have the same results.
