There have already been multiple accounts of people buying the album because the 1 dollar sale was too good to pass up. Look no further then the reviews on Amazon's own site and twitter to see people exclaiming how they weren't going to buy the album until they saw how affordable the price was. To deny it's effect is ridiculous. HDD mentioned it in their article and iTunes threatened to stop promotion on their site because of Amazon's deal. Obviously it was a big factor that rippled across the business market. To deny it's impact would be a fruitless activity. That is not to say 90% of sales came from Amazon but it likely did cause an effect that was noticed by both HDD and iTunes.

HDD has upped their prediction to 900k: "Our latest guesstimate puts the number in the neighborhood of 900k."

I think they said if there were any deals with any other online companies, they would remove the banner, but I guess since it wasn't the work of Interscope, they kept the banner up.

Thank YOU. It's one thing to state your criticism of an artist - which by all means, is welcome, but it seems this person was excessively negative in non-SYG threads.

I really wish Amazon hadn't done the .99 cent deal. It really makes Gaga look bad. Still, this was a fail for Amazon, since it crashed and many people didn't get their downloads. Most of my buddies didn't get squat.
