The singer also revealed Simon Cowell had booked her to appear on US X Factor ahead of a new album later this year.
Lewis emerged from the shadows on Monday at the Hackney Empire, just a short ride from her home, to launch Radio 1’s Hackney Weekend 2012.
Talking to Metro exclusively after a live acoustic performance, she said: ‘They’ve invited me to perform on US X Factor, so that will be exciting.’
The star scored her only American No.1 with Bleeding Love four years ago. But she reckons current US favourite Adele may help her back to the top.
‘What came into my head was a duet with Adele,’ said Lewis. ‘I think she is incredible. I met her a little while ago. We did VH1 Divas together and I just think she’s awesome. She’s done so well and her music speaks for itself. That’s what it is – just talent.’
