While the move exposes the album, if it counts for Billboard, it's a mess. It's buying the album themselves and giving it away for free, basically. I know some people in here are hating, but others just can't believe things are getting like this.

Is she winning by giving her album for free and possibly counting it as a sale?

2. The major promotion deal is that Gaga is getting the word out in all best buy circulars that her album is here
3. If it does count for billboard I doubt interscope is buying 200k worth of albums to give out. Best Buy would be buying the album from itself in an 8 dollar investment in order to capitalize on a 1000-2000 dollar profit(assuming how high smart phone 2 year plans can run)

I love Interscope, because they do everything to get her material out there. Including doing these deals. Our other faves should do it tbh.in fact, they're making the right move in a weak album sales market & I hope other albums use this in the future.

No, there is some validity to his post. I'm not biased to Lady Gaga, in fact, I think this promotion is pretty borderline conquest more than promo, but there are a lot of posters here on ATRL that aren't really arguing, but simply hating. The payola thing is being brought up again, despite the fact that no evidence exists. Just reasons to hate. People already crying foul when it hasn't been confirmed that these sales will count.
