Perhaps Pink, a hardcore animal rights activist and supporter of PETA, is against using makeup of any kind on animals.

As long as the horses aren't being abused, or hurt by being painted, I don't mind, and I don't think Selena would even let that happen, she loves animals.

This really is a non-issue, but because of Michael Vick and other animal abusers, PETA and the general public will make even the smallest issues dealing with animal abuse. Let's be honest: Had this happened in 2005, well before the Vick dogfighting fiasco, no one would have made a big deal out of this.
