I didn't even know you could talk on cell phones on the passenger trains. I don't live near an area with trains, but I've been to Japan multiple times and while it isn't forbidden to have a cell phone conversation, it is simply an unspoken rule. NOBODY talks on the cell phone while on the train.

Quiet cars have also been in existence in Japan for some time as well. Those don't have announcements and are really designated for sleeping. I've been in one of those. Really quiet except the lady with the drink cart coming by.

This woman's reactions makes me think that she's totally ghetto.
