Avatar: Which type of "bender" would you want to be?
I'm sure at least some of you are familiar with this show (which is FAR superior to the film released last year and pictured above), but for those who are not, here is a breakdown:
Avatar: The Last Airbender takes place in a world that is divided into four nations: the Water Tribe, the Earth Kingdom, the Fire Nation, and the Air Nomads. Each nation has its own natural element, on which it bases its society. Furthermore, people known as Benders have the power and ability to control and manipulate the eponymous element of their nation: Waterbenders can control water (and any substance with water in it), Earthbenders can move rocks/earth (some can control metal), Firebenders can create, direct, and control fire (some have been known to create lightning) and Airbenders create and manipulate the air/wind and often find ways to fly. At any given time, there is only one person alive in the world of Avatar who is capable of bending all four elements: the show's eponymous Avatar, the spiritual entity of the planet manifested in human form.
So, which element would you want to be able to bend? Choose wisely!
I'd definitely be an Airbender as well!!! :] And yeah, it's hard not to associate the title with the Navi's from "Avatar" but it's a shame there was such a big deal over the branding for the films. ;]
