You know I love you, Vin, but you could not be more wrong. Nicki doesn't want to be a pop star as you previously stated, and nor is she veering down the "Katy Perry route"; she's simply being a smart businesswoman. Can you imagine how badly her album would have flopped if she had done pure rap music, after all of those pop features? Exactly. The sales would have been horrible and she would have no crossover success one-soever. Nicki's debut was a hip-pop record because she wanted to appeal to rap fans by maintaining a strong enough rap edge, but also to the pop fans she had garnered after so many pop features with a strong enough pop aspect. Now that she's gotten the attention of two major music crowds, she can do as she pleases with her next record. She can make the record she would have if it hadn't been for all of the features. Think, Vin.
P.S. It's Pinkle Juice, not pink champagne.
I don't think her sales would have been bad if Pink Friday was more like her features. I think she would have a lot more hit singles, because that's what everybody was use to hearing from her. Hell the album probably would've sold even faster. Pink Friday was totally left field from her features.
Hwhat? "Roman's" return? "Roman" hasn't even been showcased "on his own." Instead, she delivered an album of melancholic melodies paired with mediocre singing ability. No one was here for those generic productions and vocals. She needs to step it up for the next album and release "Roman" singles. And yes, she can have an entire album of "Roman" and still be perfectly diverse. It's frustrating because she had such a presence with strong female empowerment undertones, but now she's dangerously veering down that Katy Perry route (pouring pink champagne on your breasts? RLY?), and may become a disappointment to women in terms of feminism. She's walking that fine line between being a main staple or a complete joke, and I've been very patient. If the next album is Pink Friday 2.0, then she's done -- case closed.
...Vin
Pink Friday is the reason why I listen to her. Because she's not like the other rappers out there rapping about the same stuff. But if she decides to have an album filled with the Roman personality, gurl I'm done.
Vin is the type of person that thinks female rappers are suppose to talk about nothing more then sex and shooting people up.. If you want that go buy a Lil Kim album & Da Brat album hon.
Anywaydoe..... I HOPE its for this supposedly mixtape.

The "old nicki". How many fans did she have?
Now with the "new nicki", how many fans does she have? I really doubt her 3,451,436 followers were all old fans of nicki. I can guarantee you at least 3,400,000 are the "new nicki" fans.
