I always love it when someone tries to justify their actions in essays. Here, I see 2 pages of intelligently written excuses. I remember when a girl had to do that in behalf of the entire class because of a prank we did in 5th grade.

Anyway, Gaga has definitely done her HW, but I am not convinced.

It's her stans who have always overstated her originality, not her. She's always been very open about who has inspired her and doesn't really shy away from that.

From the very start, Gaga's biggest inspiration has been Warhol, who made a CAREER out of borrowing other's visions.

And I didn't find it at all defensive; it was more of a lesson on her art.

@MrPeanut I guess you have a point there. However, I have always felt that she tries to present some parts of her work as original (the God-sent BTW was one of those moments in the NME interview). That's why I find this write up interesting.
