And they don't compare the song to Madonna at all, so I don't know where you're getting that from. You're lucky that you're posting when most fans are asleep or their insecure asses would be reporting yours right now.

JPop from 1999 sounds just like 1999 Cher, honey. Go listen to some hits by Ami Suzuki or Utada from back then. And the title of the article is "Gaga Madge-ical on her latest release" so that's enough for me.

I'm pretty familiar with Utada. I suppose I can hear some similarities between Gaga's recent music and J Pop, and Cher has always been an influence on Gaga's career. If anything, she's taking her notes from 80's glam rock and the Springsteen era. The fact that this song has been compared to so many artists (including Katy Perry, Madonna, Springsteen, Aerosmith, Pat Benatar, Cher, J Pop artists, etc.) just shows how multidimensional this song really is. BTW had obvious linear comparisons to Express Yourself, but with TEOG the comparisons aren't as obvious or linear.

Yep, I agree about that, but I wouldn't necessarily call the song multi-dimensional. It sounds really bland to me (cheaply Cher-esque) and it screams "album track", that's why I called it a pastiche earlier. But I respect your opinion about the song.
