Celeb News: Randy Jackson criticizes NBC's The Voice

The Voice, which airs on Channel 12 in Tempe, is the latest singing competition series to hit the airwaves, and many were waiting for the series and Fox favorite American Idol to battle it out. The wait is done. One of the mentor's on this season of The Voice, Adam Levine, made a comment about American Idol on this week's show, and now Randy Jackson is speaking out. He didn't have the nicest things to say about The Voice in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter released on Friday. He called the new NBC series "gimmicky." He went on to say that shows like The Voice are around today because American Idol paved the way for them.

Funny how he criticizes a show that is looking for talent. If he's so interested in that and if this shows are bigger than him, I don't know why he's mad.

While Idol may have paved the way for The Voice what's wrong with actually looking for someone who can sing? If that's the show's gimmick it's fine by me

Pop Stars payed the way for American Idol. It's not the first talent show, before that it was Star Search. He need to get his ego in check.

Although he's right, we already knew this. The fact he even mentioned it again shows he's just pressed that "The Voice" is doing so well. He was just stating the obvious in attempt to make them look bad.

I like The Voice more because they completely take away the image with the blind auditioning. It's based solely on the vocalist's own merit. I think that's the opposite of gimmick it's focusing on raw talent and none of the other things that have nothing to with who sings the best.
