The Voice, which airs on Channel 12 in Tempe, is the latest singing competition series to hit the airwaves, and many were waiting for the series and Fox favorite American Idol to battle it out. The wait is done. One of the mentor's on this season of The Voice, Adam Levine, made a comment about American Idol on this week's show, and now Randy Jackson is speaking out. He didn't have the nicest things to say about The Voice in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter released on Friday.
He called the new NBC series "gimmicky." He went on to say that shows like The Voice are around today because American Idol paved the way for them.
