I don't think the era is in any danger. 90% of sales for I Am... came after promotion started. Beyonce is notorious for selling be shoving it down your throat. When Beyonce puts out a new album you either listen to it or put a gun to your head because someone is bound to be playing it for you. I think what people are missing here is that the era still hasn't even started yet.
I'm not even sure her label announced this Girls track as the first single. The only person who ranks with the label that said it was the first single is Ryan Seacrest. It sure as hell is creating a lot of internet buzz, which I think it's supposed to be doing. If not, then the label is sure not worried about it and shrugging it off ... you know why? Because they aren't about to let some mediocre **** be her explosion back onto the scene.
