Cheryl Cole is preparing to take over America and in a bid to dominate both the TV screens and the music charts stateside, she has decided that she needs a new management team behind her.
The former Girls Aloud singer has reportedly fired her former manager Hilary Shaw, who previously managed the British girlband and in preparation for landing a role on The X factor USA, has hired Black Eyed Peas star Will.i.am to oversee her career. The News Of The World reports that she will also work closely with Will’s close associate and A&R colleague Seth Friedman.
An insider told the newspaper:
“This is all about taking Cheryl’s career to a whole new level. Will.i.am believes in her to the degree where he’s prepared to stake his reputation on making her a success. He’s going to be responsible for her career worldwide.
“Hilary has been brilliant for Cheryl but the fact is she needed someone who was well-known in America to push things forward.”
Will will not only oversee all the negotiations between Cheryl and Fox about her new X Factor role, but he is also said to be planning to play a large role in her new music career and her album relaunch in America. The insider added:
“One of the great things about Will is that he believes in Cheryl as a musician and singer as well. He’s intimately involved in all the big decisions, as is Seth, who is a behind-the-scenes guy but very well-respected.”
Hilary will stay on as manager of Girls Aloud and will continue to work with Cheryl on her new foundation with The Princes Trust.
