You basically said in this post that britney used dubstep before rihanna, which is true. Blackout was released in 2007, despite how much dubstep is used, the point is that IT STILL appears on the track. Even if rihanna did use dubstep more on Rated R, it was released in 2009 after blackout was released, so it doesnt matter how much she used but britney was still the first mainstream artist to use dubstep. She just used it again on Femme Fatale.

"Wait Your Turn", "Mad House", and arguably "G4L" are dubstep (though the latter also is urban-based as well), while each song on the album has dubstep influence. HIAM has a slightly, but barely, dubstep breakdown, SIWAK's dubstep breakdown isn't even really dubstep, the TTWE Remix is, yes, but "Freakshow" only has 10-ish seconds of dubstep which is barely noticeable.

Why are you responding with that to my comment? I just stated that Britney barely used dubstep whereas Rihanna did whole songs that were dubstep. 10 seconds is nothing. 3-4 minutes is.

No one said Britney didn't Sample do it first. What hes saying is Rihanna's songs are more noticeable they're not just 15 seconds samples. There either all full dubstep or at least a minute and its not just on ONE song. For example even "PitchFork" agrees.

One is influenced by dubstep the other is a DUBSTEP track. Therefore if anyone influenced the trend it was Rihanna.

But what is this thread about? Rihanna influenced dubstep trend? Therefore, we're discussing which of these two artists influenced dubstep and introduced it to the American mainstream market. Britney did not. If Britney released Blackout in 2007 with dubstep, then why did no one else in 2008 or most of 2009 use any dubstep? And why, all of a sudden, are people using dubstep in 2010 and 2011 since Rihanna released Rated R in 2009?

Case closed.

"Freakshow" may not have been a single, but people are forgetting that Blackout made a huge splash in the industry and helped launch the careers of its major contributors. It's not that people are necessarily jumping on a trend that Britney started so much as working with producers who she helped introduce to the world.

Rihanna dubsteps songs are Mad House, Wait Your Turn, G4L, Rockstar 101 and G4L is definitely dubstep all the way through, so is WYT and MH, but RS101 is dubstep with a more rock-pop sound she among is the first mainstream american artist to have FULL dubstep songs

Again. No one said Britney didn't sample it first. What he's saying is Rihanna was the first mainstream artist to release REAL noticeable dubtstep music on their songs. Which concludes to the public catching on to it more. Rated R had about 3-4 songs with dubstep compare to Britney's Freakshow that was just one song with 15 seconds and wasn't even released. What he's saying is if anyone influenced the trend Rihanna more than Britney did.

Britney's 10 second use of dubstep on Freakshow is practically irrelevant because she probably didn't know what it even was other then a cool sound. Rihanna actually worked with dubstep producers, and used the sound for the entire song, unlike Brit's producer who more than likely used the sound because it sounded cool.
