I thought it was all down to do with recessive alleles and all that. Like if you found someone homozygous dominant for, say, black hair, your kids would have black hair, as ginger is recessive... No?

Yeah but every single ginger woman in my family has had ginger kids whether she had them with a man with ginger genes in the family or not, who knows what is going on, maybe somewhere way back the ginger gene in our family mutated to become dominant, minor gene mutations are very common. All I know is all the women in my family who are ginger...have ginger kids. Don't know why and no-one will ever be bothered to find out.
