Cher knows the true tea. American Idol care much about money, rating and celebrity judges than talents just like X Factor.

AI is about making fun of people, celebrity judges, performances by real big artists and the fast fall into obscurity most of the contestants face after 6 months, very little of them are actually about talent and building an artist to last.

There are a few exceptions but as far as I'm concerned both the X Factor and AI are sad excuses for entertainment.

Nothing against Cher but...

You guys are getting ahead of yourselves.
It has to keep up the ratings like IDOL which averages 25 million. We will see if it is still getting 11 million viewers in a couple of weeks. Paula Abdul's dance show started of well and ended up getting canceled.

The business is not about public humiliation. You can give constructive criticism without being condescending or mean.

Even though i do think that i like The voice more than American idol, obviously she would say something like that, since you know isnt Xtina her friend or something.

And of course "The voice" cares about money, ratings and CELEBRITY JUDGES. Every producer of a show cares about the ratings and money from the show.

Nor will I, even though Steven Tyler is one of my all time idols.
I find the show boring and it makes me feel like my brain is rotting. I sincerely doubt if any of the 'artists' on the show will be around in 3 years.
