Interesting that "Thriller" is usually choosen as the best ever on these best video polls. When it was initially released "Thriller " was called demonic and Micheal accused of witchcraft. Also it was called by some critics (that year) one of the worst videos of the year.
Too much rock music, and no females. But it's RS, I never expected more.
At this point, the question should be "what is the #2 music video of all time," because Thriller being the best is pretty much accepted as fact in the same way as 1 + 1 = 2 and the sky being blue. Thriller isn't even my favorite Michael Jackson video, but I would say it's the best of all-time mainly because it's been drilled into my head so much that I can't even think of an alternative answer.
Oh, I so want to tear you a new one for this post, but I won't....oh, screw it, not even "THRILLER"?! REALLY?!
Quote:
"Freak on a Leash" should've been in place of "Learn to Fly", and I'm not even being biased. Then again, Rolling Stone are too hip to mention Korn in a positive light.
See, there are so many great vids that didn't make this list. FOAL, yes, but also "Rabbit In Your Headlights" by UNKLE, "Come to Daddy" by Aphex Twin and Madonna's "Like a Prayer". This list could have been a lot worse, too, so I'll take it.
Not sure about Nirvana....oh wait, I'm certain, not only it's one of the most overrated song of all time (for all right reasons) but this video is just overrated by virtue of Nirvana legacy and Cobain's death.
Toxic and Bad Romance are great but only for now.In 10 years BR and Toxicwill be forgotten because the most popular music will be changed. However, this is not the case with Thriller, November rain etc...
