Is there an ultimate popstar today?

What are the requirements for a popstar to be considered "ultimate"? First of all, she must have talents of all sorts. She should be a great singer, no one would complain if she played any instruments, she should be also a great dancer. She must sell singles, records and tours. And she must have cultural impact. Her songs must be acclaimed by the critic and the public too, winning both audience and industry awards.

So we have

Rihanna: not a great singer, not a great dancer, not critically acclaimed
Britney: not a great singer, not a dancer anymore, not critically acclaimed.
Katy Perry: not a great singer, not a dancer.
Ke$ha: not a dancer, not a great singer, not critically acclaimed.

so that leaves us with

Lady GaGa: not the best singer but a good singer nonetheless.
Beyoncé: ... Beyoncé is the only one who actually fulfills all the requisites.

Lady GaGa and Beyoncé are therefore our only ultimate popstars today. (Until Madonna & Justin Timberlake return)

So dear Beyoncé, i hope you don't steal more songs, i hope you release other multiple songs that make us forget Run The World, i hope you continue evolving as an artist as you did with IA..SF and don't get stuck as you did with Girls.

And Lady GaGa, keep it going.

What is the point of this BLOG, erm, thread? Was it necessary to make a thread for your opinions on who is the ultimate popstar?

where are your receipts? are you in the studio with her when she's recording? Stuck how? You and who?

Since when was Madonna a great singer? People like her and Britney prove that you don't really need anything to become an ultimate popstar. The lack of any quality can be offset by other positive qualities you might have

Britney is absolutely critically acclaimed (for the most part) Blackout, Femme Fatale, In The Zone, and Britney all got outstanding reviews. Last time I checked, actually, Britney (the album) got a 9/10 from NME! Her album Metacritic scores go like this:

Britney: 54 (In her defense, the score that dragged it down came from The Onion A.V. Club)
ITZ: 66
Blackout: 61
Circus: 64 (THE **** IS IT HIGHER THAN BLACKOUT KILL ME NOW METACRITIC)

Madonna still can sing though. She's the ultimate Pop Star. The Begining and The End. Madonna was still dominated the world when Rock and Hip Hop, vocals Divas were the mainstream sounds.

Britney Spears is empitomised beacause she sells, not because she is an ultimate popstar. Many consider her to be the one that brought in an age of pop that began to be looked down upon, as it became a sespool of cheap songs about love and a reliance on branding.
