OG only got there with a discount, WMN was released to iTunes only when the song gained airplay because they knew it likely wouldn’t go 1 otherwise, then SM with the remix and her two features... Not saying her song aren’t hits but they would not have been #1 without her team planning this all

a duet and a featured credit are not the same thing. btw, Mariah Carey wrote One Sweet Day and produced it! She is the lead artist of the song in terms of singing percentage.
