Not when it comes at the expense of the casual buyer deciding they don't want it because the non-deluxe album cover is unattractive. Overall album sales numbers are far more important than the extra dollars from the deluxe edition, especially in the opening weeks.

Gaga revealed a "deluxe edition" album cover tonight that is essentially her head cropped out of the original with "Lady Gaga Born This Way" in new font.

It's being speculated that this is an elaborate hoax and that Gaga will reveal another cover, that is the final and true cover, on Tuesday.
