Girl, Rihanna can do bad all by herself. She's proven that. And I think at this point in her career, getting ANOTHER #1 isn't all that important to her. And plus, the song is already #1 on Pop, which matters just as much if not more than Billboard.

I like both girls, but I wasn't thrilled about this . My dream collab would have been a new fresh song that was well thought and prepared... NOT rushed like this and most certainly NOT to use as tactic for that one-week #1 on an old song

It has nothing to do with a #1. "S&M" was well on its way to going #1 within the next couple of weeks without Britney. This will just give the song an extra boost. They didn't collaborate so it would go #1. They did it because Britney has stated that she loves "S&M" and Rihanna.

Of course Rihanna cares about #1's. I mean who wouldn't?! Getting Britney to jump on a track that was about to peak is another move (like discounting OG) to get that #1. She really wants to dethrone Katy it seems. But it's all good, I love the remix, so cheers!

It's not about the #1, though. The discounting of songs was her label, not Rihanna personally. While Rihanna would (and should) care about the success, this remix isn't about that. Britney and Rihanna did it because it was a great chance to hop on a song together. Most Britney stans like Rihanna, and vice versa. It was the perfect idea.
