Also, Katy's career started in 2001 with album "Katy Hudson". Her 2nd wind started in 2007, just 2 years after Rihanna's debut. Finally, Katy, Kesha, Beyonce and Gaga are all american, Rihanna is a foreigner, it makes a HUGE difference on US sales.
This is a public forum and TD and Loud are the 2 biggest pop albums out right now, so camparisons can happen

Katy released her 1st official album in 2008.
Katy's album is pure pop while Rihanna has urban support.
Fact is that Rihanna is on her 5th album, has million US and WW hits and collaborations. I can't say the same for Katy.

Right. katy and Rihanna are from the same generation and both released their latest albums in the same period so of course people will compare

Pure pop albums have gone 4x Plat *see Gaga* If any , having an album that's urban and pop (Bey and Rih) splits the buying public. An urban fan wouldnt be interested in more than half the songs on Loud
