It's interesting to me that Born This Way and E.T. have been so successful as singles, but both of the videos have been tremendous flops so far by my definition (not in terms of quality, in terms of views).

Does anyone remember this? I kinda want to see her on tv shows like she did before.

Whether people like to admit it or not, Bad Romance single-handedly revived the music video. Before BR, the most viewed video of all-time was Girlfriend, and since BR, many, many videos have been able to rise to astronomical heights because of the increased interest.

Yeah. Gaga definitely raised the standards regarding MV. But there is also a huge factor to consider : Vevo. Bad Romance came just when Vevo was released. Before Vevo, MV were uploaded in many chanels, low quality and people didn't really care as much.

Now, with Vevo, there's a lot of promotion and they have the exclusivety. So, it gathers all the views into a single video and not many videos on multiple chanels. So that's why since then, many videos are reaching easily 100M+ views.
