Education about Britney’s background
Well I may not know everything about her background, but I know for a fact Britney came out in 1998 even though most people believe it was 1999. I know she signed with her current company, Jive, in 1997 and released her debut album in 1999. Britney’s real name is Britney Jean Bridgett Spears, born in 1981. Her first rise to fame began in the Mickey Mouse club, joining other contemporaries Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera. Casting director Matt Cassella rejected her for being too young to join the series at the time, but introduced her to Nancy Carson, a New York City talent agent. Well I think this is enough for her early life, time for her debut album.

…Baby One More Time
Britney’s debut album, …Baby One More Time, debuted in 1999. It debuted at no.1 and was certified 2x platinum 1 month later. Worldwide, the album topped many countries and sold 10 million copies within a year. This became the biggest selling album by a teenager ever, a distinction which she still holds today. The …Baby One More Time tour supports this album. The title track of the album was released as the lead single from the album. This single became one of the best selling single of all time, selling 9 million copies, purely physical. Originally, Jive Records wanted the video for this to be animated, but Spears rejected the idea. The songs lyrics “Oh baby baby” became one of Spears trademarks; also used in Oops…I did it Again and If U Seek Amy. The song became Spears first no.1 single in the US, topping charts based almost purely on sales. Had Jive waited, the song could have topped the US charts for more than two weeks because the airplay would have grown. This became Jive’s first blunder of many that will soon follow. This became a worldwide hit too, topping the worldwide chart. Crazy, the albums third single, became another signature song of Spears, peaking at no.10 in the US. Britney’s last gigantic hit from the album, Born To Make You Happy, became yet another worldwide hit, peaking at no.1 and all without an official US release, which counts for close to 20% of the worldwide chart. Overall, this album has sold approximately 25 million units and became Spears’ first diamond album in the US, selling 12 million units alone.

Oops…I Did It Again
The second album which put Britney on the list of Pop princesses, Oops has sold around 20 million WW units and about 10 million US units, her second and most recent diamond album. This album holds Brit’s first writing credit for “Dear Diary.” The Oops tour supports this album as well. The first single from this iconic album, Oops…I Did It Again became another signature song from Britney. It topped charts worldwide, while only peaking at no.9 in the US. The video became Spears’ first sexually provocative video, while Spears is 18 herself. The third single from this album, Stronger, became yet another song she has been remembered for. Stronger alludes to her first single …Baby One More Time with the line ‘...my loneliness ain't killing me no more". This peaked at no.11 in the US. The Oops Tour was a supporting tour for this album

Britney
Britney, the third studio album of Britney, solidified herself as one of the all time legends. This album’s main theme was for the media to stop making her look like a child, when she is far older and wiser. Britney has sold over 12 million WW copies today. Britney became the first female to have her first 3 albums debut at no.1, which she later broke herself with her 4th studio album. I’m A Slave 4 U, became a top 40 hit only, because of its 12-inch release instead of the normal CD release. In 2001, she performed this song onstage at the VMA’s with the inclusion of exotic animals and was named the most memorable VMA performance at the 2008 VMA’s. Even though it’s peak of no.27 in the US, it is often regarded as her best single ever by her fans/stans. This is the album where all of Britney’s singles were banned on the radio because of a Britney did not want to tour with a certain company which will not be named at this time. All of her singles underperformed and will not be named. The Dream Within A Dream Tour became the promoter of this album.

In The Zone
In the Zone, Britney’s 4th studio album, again debuted at no.1 in the US and became the first female to have her four albums debut at no.1. She also became the first female to have her first four albums debut at no.1 with sales over 500K. The album sold 10m WW copies, the last album of hers to do so. In The Zone was a change of pace and sound from her last album and fully solidified her return on the charts. Me Against the Music featuring Madonna became the first single, and Brit’s first and only single where she is not the only artist. Me Against the Music became a worldwide hit and placing her on their radar (hehe). It became one of the VERY few songs to top the Hot Dance Club Play for more than one week. Toxic became the second single, and topped worldwide charts again, bringing an end to her comeback and a beginning to world domination. This is Spears’ favorite track ever recorded. The song gave Spears her first and only Grammy Award thus far, for best dance recording. Everytime was the third single from ITZ and it became another worldwide hit, but this time with a slower song. Britney composed the beat herself, another first for her. The Onyx Hotel tour, often considered Britney’s best, is the supporting tour.

Blackout
Blackout, the Queen’s 5th album, debuted at no.2 in the US, her only album NOT to debut or reach no.1 because of last minute rules by Billboard. The album sold about 2m worldwide copies, and about 900K copies in the US, the only album not to reach platinum in the US. The lead single, Gimme More, became another signature song of Britney, reaching no.3 in the US, and became yet another worldwide hit. The second single, Piece Of Me, was released and peaked at no.23 in the US. The song is lyrically strong, often considered to be her strongest since it related to her life during this time. The song Break The Ice, became the albums third single and failed to became stronger hits than its predecessors. Radar was scheduled to be the albums last single, but was cancelled because of work on her 6th album. Radar appeared on her 6th album as well, later becoming a single. This is the only album not to have a supporting tour.

Circus
Circus is the Queen’s most recent album, her 6th. It debuted at no.1 with sales around 505K. The album sold about 3.5m WW copies. The albums first single, Womanizer, became another WW hit and became Spear’s first single to reach no.1 in almost 10 years. It jumped from no.96 to no.1 on the chart within two weeks, the biggest jump on Billboard history, until later broken by a lessur. Circus, the albums second single, debuted at no.3 on the Hot100, her highest debut until broken later. The albums third and fourth singles, If U Seek Amy and Radar underperformed in the US.

3, from the Singles Collection, debuted at no.1 on the hot100, becoming the first debut at no.1 for the Queen, the 16th song to do so, and the first no.1 debut for a non-American Idol performer in 11 years.


Other Stanning Moments
• When I was about 4 years old, I saw Britney for the first time on a music video on a chair, then kicking it. I pulled out my kitchen chair, tried to stand on top of it, then kick it to the side as well, but failed. I couldn’t get down once I got on top, cried, and my mom had to come get me
• At The VMA awards in 2001 after Britney performed Slave, I grabbed my cat and put him around my neck, pretending he was a snake and started dancing. My cat bit my neck and ran away in the hallway, leaving my neck bloody.
• In 2007 when Britney performed Gimme More, I tried to do the dance she did and I learned it in 10 minutes, being the easiest dance I learned from the Queen. But she didn’t dance at all anyway, so there was no point in learning it
• After the video of 3 debuted, I tried the horizontal pole dancing with my shower curtain bars in my bathroom. When I was turning, the bar fell on top of my head and I had to get 3 stitches with a trip to the hospital.
