Nicki Minaj has some serious skill, but Pink Friday is an incoherent mess and without a genuine hit to her name, her hype seems especially unfounded.

Missy Elliott was on a really hot streak for a while, it's a shame it all seemed to end overnight.

Nicki has Your Love, Moment 4 Life, Right Thru Me...all of which were decent hits, and were all very successful for not only a rapper, but a female rapper. Not to mention her exceptional album sales! She isn't through with it yet, either! Superbass and Fly are coming!

As for Missy, she took a break, it hasn't ended. When she releases her next album, everyone else in the music business' wigs will be but scorches on the Earth!

No, not really. None of those songs performed like Missy's biggest singles and they weren't true definitions of crossover hits. Her sales are great, yes, but the album is a mess and the quality doesn't match the hype.

Overnight? She is one of the consistent female rappers of all-time. Her streak lasted a good 8 or 9 years. Hardly overnight. And it didn't really end. She went away on her own.

You misread my post. I was basically stating how Missy seemed to be on a hot streak for a long time then all of a sudden she disappeared from the spotlight. And it wasn't entirely arbitrary, her sales were starting to decline with This Is Not a Test!
