My main point is that they're not cultural events (at least in the U.S.) in the sense that they get even the casual public outside its fanbase talking, like The Dark Knight, or Avatar, or even Inception did.

I enjoyed the 1s I watched. The 1st book was like the 1st long book that was read to me.

This movie's franchise isn't a flop. There are many ways for a studio to make revenue, and since they keep making more of them it shows that.

Luv the book, but I'm not sure how this gonna be a movie. Just doesn't have that adventure like the first three movies.

I think they picked this book because it had the potential to become a surprise hit. The story is pretty different from most movies out there right now. And if they do crazy visuals like in the world of Jadis and the in between worlds or the creation of Narnia , this could become an experience that everyone should never miss esp. if it's done in 3D...
